Travel with me to 1900 BCE ...

as Abraham, the father of three world religions, receives his famous divine covenant.

We have been taught that this foundational event marks the beginning of patriarchal monotheism, but what if the story is far more complex than that?

In Genesis 17, God identifies Godself as El-Shaddai, which is often rendered in Jewish and Christian Bibles as God Almighty or The Almighty.

What if this very name of God in the Abrahamic covenant signals a relationship with Goddess ... and one that very echoes the norms of divine-human partnership Abraham's former Mesopotamian homeland?

If so, what does this alternate HERstory mean for those who are re-membering Feminine devotion inside traditional biblical religions?

Find out for yourself as we follow Abraham's journey with Shaddai, and then explore 40+ more mentions of Her across the Hebrew Bible.

And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him: ‘I am El-Shaddai; walk before Me, and be thou wholehearted.'

~ Genesis 17:1

When they moved, I could hear the sound of their wings like the sound of mighty waters, like the sound of Shaddai, a tumult like the din of an army.

About the author

Lisa Moriah Chenthitta is a qadosha (lay priestess), shamanic practitioner vibrational healer, artist, chantmaker, mystical linguist and soul sounds coach.

Growing up in a strict Christian household, she had no connection to Goddess or the Eternal Feminine ... until sexual dysfunction and a divorce brought her to a reckoning with religious trauma and its tangible impact in Her body.

Shaddai: Goddess of the Abrahamic Covenant is the product of seven years' research and personal awakening. During that process, Lisa Moriah studied with Magdalene priestesses, sound healers, biblical scholars, shamanic Jewish rabbis and teachers of Hebrew, Aramaic and Syriac language.

The book reflects Her focus on mystical linguistics, a process of exploring the languages of the Bible and its surrounding cultures to identify the presence of feminine elements long suppressed. Mystical linguistics is a blend of traditional scholarship and embodied textual practices.

Believing that in Semitic languages, "vowel signs are a political statement," Lisa Moriah's work explores the power inherent in how sacred texts were vocalized to reify meaning ... rendering them both powerful agents of spiritual transformation, and also tools for the demonization of the feminine.

Lisa Moriah is especially passionate about helping women reinvent their relationship with sacred text as a tool for healing religious trauma and its effects on their voice and vulva. She also initiates women into the priestess wisdom of the matriarchs through Tent Keepers.

"I haven't found many voices bringing your scholarly insight and background to the table. There have been so many shifts unfolding and so much life proceeding! It's been such a joy to let go of old frameworks through this reading and this energy work. I feel equipped to move forward."
